CRIMINAL DEFENSE

Facing any criminal charge is a matter to be taken seriously. Most people do not know what to expect because they have never had any contact with the criminal justice system. The shock of having been thrown into Sheriff Joe’s jail and/or facing the possible loss of one’s liberty is terrifying. It is during this time that a person is most vulnerable. As a result, a person is more apt to making the decision to hire a given attorney out of fear, rather than based on informed consent which is truly in one’s best interest. In order to avoid making a hasty decision, it is highly recommended that you meet with as many experienced attorneys as possible.

Experience and skill are vital, but it is also important to select an attorney with whom you are comfortable on a personal level. Don’t be reluctant to ask questions regarding the qualifications and experience of the attorney who is actually going to be handling your matter. Remember, it is your liberty which is at stake!! Observe the attorney’s demeanor. Does he actually listen to you or does he appear eager to conduct the consultation quickly.

Mr. Wolf has successfully represented hundreds clients facing a wide range of charges. Mr. Wolf is committed to preparing the best possible defense for each and every client. Anyone can accept the first plea offer. You also should select an attorney who has more than mere experience - you will need a skilled trial attorney. One who has handled similar cases and is relentless and willing to expend the time needed to assure the best possible outcome.

Mr. Wolf will evaluate your case honestly and will not accept a matter unless he has the time required to pursue every conceivable avenue for success. He will also not accept your matter unless there is a reasonable likelihood that he will be able to achieve a more beneficial outcome. During this time of crisis, you deserve and should retain an attorney who is actually concerned for your well being first, not one whose primarily concern is the fee.

Criminal DefenseIn Arizona, criminal offenses are classified as either a misdemeanor or felony. Both have serious consequences. Misdemeanors are less serious. The possible penalties include jail time, which may allow for work furlough/release. Felonies are more serious, and the possible penalties include time in prison. If convicted, you will serve about 85% of your prison sentence. More information about Arizona’s sentencing provisions may be found by clicking on the criminal law tab above, and then “sentencing chart.”

COMMON QUESTIONS

Do I really need to hire a criminal defense attorney?
In criminal proceedings, it is advisable to have capable, experienced representation. A knowledgeable attorney can often negotiate with prosecutors for reduced charges. Aggressive Phoenix, Arizona lawfirm Wolf & Associates will protect your rights and fight for the best possible outcome for your case.

What if I did not do anything wrong?
Often it is even more important to retain the services of a criminal defense attorney. Innocence of a crime is a conclusion of the law, not a defense. Police and court authorities may attempt to persuade you to admit guilt to a lesser crime. They may use strong methods and tactics that confuse you.  You will need aggressive legal representation to clear your name and record completely.

WHAT NEXT?
